The electromagnetic parameters of synthesized M-type hexagonal ferrites, Ba(0.5)Sr(0.5)Co(x)Zr(x)Fe((12-2x))O(19) (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0), were measured from 8.2-12.4 GHz. The dielectric loss in the ferrites is higher than the magnetic loss and increases with substitution, suggesting their use for lossy dielectric applications. The various mechanisms behind increased permittivity and dielectric loss are discussed in this paper.
