Effect of cobalt oxide addition on the crystallization behavior of [SrO center dot TiO2]-[2SiO(2)center dot B2O3] glass ceramic system
Abstract
Glasses with varying wt% of CoO content in the system [(SrOTiO2)-Ti-.]-[2SiO(2)(.)B(2)O(3)]-CoO were prepared. DTA were recorded to determine the crystallization temperatures. The glasses were ceramized and characterized for different phase constitution by XRD. The crystallization behavior of strontium titanate borosilicate glass ceramics was affected by the addition of cobalt oxide. Strontium borate was observed as the primary crystalline phase in this system, which were crystallized over the temperature range 800similar to1000degreesC. Rutile (polymorph of TiO2) and Sr3Ti2O7 were present as secondary crystalline phases.
