Abstract
Mn-doped BaTiO3 nanofibers were fabricated by sol-gel combined with electrospinning and subsequent annealing of as-spunnanofibers. The effects of Mn content on the structural and photoluminescence (PL) properties of the BaTiO3 nanofibers wereinvestigated as a function of annealing temperature from 500 oC to 950 oC. The X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopyrevealed tetragonal phases in the nanofibers annealed at 950 oC. In case of annealed at 500 oC, undoped BaTiO3 showedamorphous phase. From the HR-TEM analysis, 1 mol% Mn-doped BaTiO3 nanofibers was observed partially crystallizedBaTiO3 within the amorphous phase. Intense visible photoluminescence displayed in the undoped BaTiO3 nanofiber. Theobserved intense PL was ascribed to a multiphonon process with localized states within the band gap of the highly disorderedstates.
